"Sadbarg" - the
handicrafts center of development of
creative initiatives among the youth

Gold-embroidery
Products of Bukhara masters are glorified from - ancient times, for their own inimitable
patterns, quality and variety. From ancient times from father to son, from mother to
daughter this ancient craft-art is passed on. At the moment beside us around 80 young
people work at the centre and, many of them schoolchildren who learn along us at the
centre of crafts and have their stable earnings. The Centre "Sadbarg" exists on
membership fees and on the incomes of commercial enterprise, organized by the centre,
bimonthly our centre organizes charity concerts in a boarding school of our city for
children with learning disabilities and children from incomplete families. We help them
with clothes, textbooks and many other things necessary for children.
We are concerned with education of the youths
of craft, and rebirth of old-time patterns and methods of embroidery, and provide them
with work and stable earnings. Also we train handicapped children at home, organize
help for them and for children from incomplete families.
All our products are manufactured from ecologically natural fabric and materials weaved
ancient methods, fabrics manually manufacture such as - silk, atlas, adras, cotton and
velvet.
In the center there are:
- silk-weaving workshop, where natural silk fabrics and threads are produced. And ready
product such as: scarf's, adras, suzane and etc are made of them .
- golden-embroidery workshop, where accessories for weddings, decorative belongings,
souvenirs, small boxes, bags, cases for glasses, wall decorations, miniatures, carpet and
a great deal of other thins... are made.
- Workshop of hand-embroidery decorates final products manufactured in sewing workshop
with hand- embroidery in silk and gold; also there is:
- the sewing workshop, tambours workshop, workshop of machine embroidery.
We participated in several exhibitions in
Tashkent, took part in exhibition in Euroteffa 2000, which was held in Nuniberg, Germany,
in 2000. Also we took part in exhibitions, held in Finland, C.I.S. countries, and Greece.

We have highly
skilled experts in the fields of embroidery, gold-embroidery, jewellry, silk and carpet
weaving, who offer training sesions in the crafts mentioned above. We could arrange for
the experts to teach their craft in your town, or we can invite interested students to
learn the craft here in Bukhara. Visiting students will be provided with accomodation and
food at the Centre's expence.
